Spring 2025 finds the Oceanside Concert Band ‘heading off to sea’ with grand works, harrowing journeys, tall ships, a dash of pirate’s adventure, and mermaids thrown in to spice up the mix.
This concert debuts the band’s new Musical Director, Ed Dumas, who, after 30 years’ experience conducting school and community bands, and six years nestled in the OCB trumpet section, took the director’s helm this past January.
The pièce de résistance of the spring concert will be the guest appearance of the Maple Ridge Concert Band performing under the directorship of John van Deursen and Geeta Das. Oceanside Concert Band is extremely proud and honored to host this incredibly talented group from the mainland and hope you will attend as both bands set sail with Mermaids & Mariners, a concert of resonating sound that is sure to please.
