In June, Oceanside Music proudly presented our Sylvia Paish Bursary to students, Lyra Sales of Kwalikum Secondary and James Miguel of École Secondaire Ballenas Secondary. Each received $500. Lyra was the Valedictorian at this year’s Graduation Ceremony. She has been accepted to the prestigious Rider University in New Jersey where she is pursuing her studies in Musical Theatre. James was accepted to and is attending Randolph College in Toronto where he will pursue his degree in Musical Theatre. A special thank you to our Bursary Committee Chair Mark Angerilli and committee Members, Alistair McVey and Joe Ringwald for their painstaking efforts in the selection of the bursary recipients. All have stated that it wasn’t easy. There’s a lot of young budding talent in Oceanside. Congratulations for Lyra and James. We can’t wait to see you blossom.
